On the example of the American army, the main directions of research, their scale, the nature of organizational and methodological support, and the main results are considered. The contribution of representatives of social Sciences to the victory over the enemy is analyzed. At the same time, special attention is paid to research on the causes and factors of high morale of the Wehrmacht, the results of which allowed the allied command to developeffective measures to reduce the combat capability of the German army. The conclusion is made about the role and significance of the conducted research in the formation and formation of a new branch of sociological science – military sociology.
