Abstract
The article is based on the results of a comparative analysis of data from two representative lifestyle studies: All-Union, held ISI of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1981-1982 (a total of 10,150 people were interviewed, including 5,522 in Russia), and the all-Russian survey conducted by the RSSU in 2008. (2017 people polled.). Analysis of the data obtained allows us to refute some of the popular myths about the Soviet and” new Russian " social reality.
