Abstract
The directions of research development in line with the theory of practices after 2008 are considered. The first direction was devoted to the analysis of one of the historical configurations of practices – what the Romans called res publica. The second examined specific res-things that are woven into such configurations or underlying them - but using the example of housing and utilities reform in a modern Russian city. According to the results of research, it is clear that it is necessary to distance the theory of practices from the traditional analysis of the relationship between the basis and the superstructure, and focus on research on the infrastructure for speech acts (especially in legal proceedings and law enforcement) or on research on the specifics of speech acts related to infrastructure.
