- Abstract
The article gives a detailed presentation of the materials, preserved only in drawings, which were found at Selmentausen Early Medieval cemetery in the Vedenskiy region of Chechnya, partially investigated in 1987. The materials include the description of four excavated burials and their inventory, finds from ruined graves (seven complexes) and a large number of finds that cannot be linked to specific complexes. The materials include ornaments, amulets, household items. On the whole, the material dates to the middle of the 8th – border of the 9th– 10th cc. and belongs to a culture that was subsequently integrated into the Medieval Chechen ethnos.
