- Abstract
- The article publishes, and gives a new reading of, the carved inscription over the fronton of the north portal in St. George cathedral in Yuryev-Polsky. The rectifi ed reading, the analysis of the inscriptions structure and the paleographic and technological characteristics confi rm G.K. Vagners hypothesis that the inscription is the signature of a carver, possibly that of the general foreman.
