- Аннотация
Анализируется влияние фискальной и монетарной политики федерального правительства США на исход президентских выборов 2016 г. Констатируется, что вялые темпы экономического роста американской экономики в 2016 г. создали для Демократической партии реальную угрозу проигрыша на президентских выборах. Поэтому федеральное правительство прибегло к использованию рычагов бюджетного стимулирования для формирования в сознании американских избирателей тренда ускоряющегося экономического роста. Аналогичным образом действовала и ФРС США, которая намеренно перенесла сроки повышения базовой ставки рефинансирования на период после окончания президентской кампании. Эта тактика администрации Обамы в целом оказалась сравнительно успешной, поскольку позволила демократам получить большую поддержку рядовых избирателей на всеобщих выборах 8 ноября, а также повысить представительство демократических фракций в Сенате и Палате представителей Конгресса США.
