- Abstract
- The article presents the results of research on historical memory – personal memory of the great Patriotic war, which is transmitted through live interpersonal communication. The most important themes of war that remain in people's memories are participation in combat, hunger, selflessness, humanism and compassion. The article focuses on the personal aspect of the memoirs of contemporaries of the events, including rare cases of humane attitude of German soldiers to the population of the occupied territories. The preservation of a living memory of the great Patriotic war is a significant factor of education of patriotism.
