- Abstract
- Interest in the future is returning – this is how you can assess the shifts in the topic of foreign sociologists ' speeches in recent years. Relevant data are provided, and the emphasis of speeches in the world sociological periodicals about this trend is analyzed, in particular, about the reaction to the forecast of the French economist T. Piketty of growth – up to the 2070s-of property polarization. Questions for possible discussion by sociologists of Russia of tendencies of its future are offered. The specifics of the future discourse in our country are shown and emphasized the important role of sociology and especially historical sociology in it, the directions of empirical research relevant to the topic are formulated.
