Abstract
Attitude to emigration from Russia is one of the most important integral indicators of well-being/disadvantage in our country. Based on the data of a regional study at the end of 2013, the article analyzes external and internal factors that determine this ratio. There are three types of it and, accordingly, three significantly different groups of respondents, who, judging by their dominant characteristics, can be described as “disoriented pragmatists” who want to leave Russia forever; “optimists” who want to leave for a while; and “traditionalists”, who will not leave the country under any circumstances. These differences are based on both intergenerational differences and significantly different value orientations. They manifest themselves in different life and social situations and give rise to different attitudes towards emigration.
