- Abstract
- The article questions the traditional understanding of tolerance, which requires a positive attitude to the ethnically different and is the basis of the policy of multiculturalism. An attempt is made to explain the failures of this policy as a result of an eclectic combination of classical models of social integration. The reasons for their psychosocial failure are considered from the point of view of creating a stable social connection aimed at conflict-free coexistence of different ethno-cultural groups. The principle of dissonant tolerance, which defines an alternative logic to multiculturalism, is substantiated ethno-social development.
