Abstract
L. N. Gumilyov's biosocial interpretation of ethnos, presented in the theory of ethnogenesis developed by him, is a significant contribution to science,and today it does not lose its relevance. His teaching about ethnos is based on the idea of convergence of natural and human Sciences.
