- Abstract
- An attempt is made to outline the main challenges facing the Humanity, that can be answered by the means of synergetics in combination with the integrated science of man. Among the most important of these problems, there are the critical analysis and assessment of the limits of applicability of the “human machine metaphor” implied by the cybernetics, and of the utilitarian approach to a Human being as well as the development of models of social organization and selforganization that are capable allow for Human values. The role of I.T. Frolov and the Institute of Man in the forma tion of an integrated interdisciplinary approach to the study of man and society is emphasized
