- Abstract
- A specific type of understanding, that is comprehension, is considered in a perspective of existential psychology. In simple terms on can define "comprehension" as a psychical processes of grasping the whole and the wholeness. Self-understanding, presentative feeling and contemplation play a great role in the process. The identification of value components of one's knowledge is the main factor in this phenomenon in the perspective of both the person who experiences comprehension and a psychologist. The particularities of the phenomenon of comprehension that distinguish it from other forms of understanding are considered in detail.
