Abstract
The problems of soul in the different strands of thought within philosophy and psychology are considered. The author asserts that the far-back concept of the soul doesn't disappear from the humane reflection. She picks out two modern currents: Tiefenpsychologie and existential philosophy. The both describe main traits of the human soul in different perspectives, in different terms giving them either similar or contrary characteristics. The author speaks of the depth, unity, multitude of the soul, its going-ahead, liberty, responsibility and generosity.
