Abstract
The subject of the paper is a religious aspect of worldview of American science fiction novelist Frank Herbert. Specific features of his philosophy, manifested in such novels as "The God makers", "Dune" and others, are technological approach to religion and interpretation of religion as an element of an "ecology of culture". The main figure of religious consciousness - God is considered in Herbert's novels as a product of certain technologies letting one to control consciously both his body (up to metabolic processes) and his mind.
