Abstract

A new phenomenon for Russia is analyzed, that is so called downshifting. It is voluntary giving up the work entailing stress, responsibilities, the lack of spare time for living in peace. The people who trade their career for their psychological well-being are called downshifters. The results of foreign investigations in this phenomenon are presented as well as analysis of the authors' own qualitative research.
