- Abstract
- The article discusses opportunities for anthropological research in the field of bioethics by taking the experience of work conducted in the USA as an example. The author offers a review of bioethical issues within the areas of cultural and medical anthropology, as well as discusses cases of empirical studies of the sociocultural contexts in which medical help is provided or received and biomedical experiments are conducted by US social scientists. These studies, the author argues, may be considered as a starting point for research of the type in Russian scholarship.
