- Abstract
- The article explores Dagestanian traditional stories containing designations for inhabitants of some Dagestanian auls (villages), such as Jews, Armenians, Georgians, or Russians. The author argues that epithets Jewish, Armenian, Georgian, or Russian in these stories were functioning as synonyms of the term ancient in the majority of cases.
