- Abstract
- Arguing that studying the ideologies of ethnic communities in contemporary Russia is a vital and important area of research, the author analyzes the range of principal issues that have been emphasized in ethnic mass media, particularly the press, in 2002-2008. She discusses the information frameworks and technologies such media employ to project specific images of ethnic and cultural identity. Special attention is paid to the question what ethnic values, ideas, and goals are used by post-Soviet ethnic elites in their attempts to consolidate people into diasporic communities?
