Abstract

The article draws attention to the contributions of 18th-century scholars and travelers Gerhard Friedrich Müller and Johann Jährig to research activities of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in Russia and particularly to the unique fund of ethnographic objects that currently belongs in the collections of Russian Academy of Sciences' Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography.
