- Abstract
- The article considers the question of confessional denomination of Simeon Poloсkij. Basing on the historical sources and contemporary scholarly work, it is proved that the hypothesis of his «crypto-Greek-Catholicism» is the result of a misunderstanding and could be explained by the complexity of ecclesiastic and religious realities on the eastern-Slavic territories of the seventeenth-century Rzecz Pospolita and the ignorance of the specific terminology of the age.
