Abstract

This paper summarizes the data on agricultural implements recovered from the Middle Don sites of the Scythian time. The equipment is classified by its use at different phases of farming: tools for tillage, harvesting and conversion of the crop are distinguished. The tool complex under study shows analogies to that of steppe-forest Scythia and is indicative of the high level of development of this branch of economy among the population of the Middle Don.
