- Abstract
- In the scientifi c community the opinion about the composition of golden stamped plaques from the Verkhny Rogachik burial mound, which was excavated by N.I. Veselovsky in 1914, is based on the photo that was published in Report of the Imperial Archaeological Committee for 1913–1915. The photo represented the plaques of 14 different stamps. However the analysis of the text attached to the photo, the archive materials, the collection of the State Hermitage and also the fi ndings from the previous excavations conducted by N.I. Veselovsky convinces us that the plaques originated from two burial mounds, Verkhny Rogachik and Chmyreva Mogila, are combined on this photo.
