- Abstract
- The present article is the first specialized study of the cultivated plants in Yukhnovo culture. We have studied the imprints of seeds of cultivated plants on Yukhnovo culture ceramics. The materials come from four sites in the Desna river region near Novgorod Seversky: Kiselevka II, Pesochny Rov, Zapadnoye Yukhnovskoye, Bu-zhanka I. We have identified three species of cultivated plants: Panicum milliaceum L., Hordeum vulgare L., Triticum dicoccon Shrank. The assemblage of the cultivated plants characterizes the level of agriculture in archaeological cultures of the forest zone in general.
