Abstract
The article begins with a historical review of the term Late Stage of Upper Paleolithic and describes the different points of view concerning the chronological position of the period. The period of our investigation is between ≈17.000 and 14/13.000 B P. The article describes the sites (discovery, stages of investigation, interpretations) which belong to the period in question. Those are: Zaraisk, Tregubovo, Koltovo 7, Karacharovo, Shatrishchi, Vyshetravino, Zaozer'e 1, Ulitsa Bolotnikova, Klushino 1. As a conclusion, the article describes two possible vectors of technological traditions traced in the region during the investigated period.
